Research: According to our research, there are limited IT courses in primary and secondary schools in the Amstelland area and across the Netherlands. Most private events are paid and not accessible to underserved and underrepresented communities.
Aim: The goal of the event is to provide youth with a space to improve their digital skills, creating opportunities for a new generation—local and international children, especially those from less fortunate backgrounds or facing fewer opportunities and socialization challenges. This event will offer a free platform to discover new digital knowledge, such as programming and coding, using a methodology of non-formal, fun, and innovative learning.
What Will Be Taught:
Programming and Coding: Basics of coding languages and concepts; Game and Cartoon Creation: Designing and programming their own games and animated cartoons; Robotics: Building and programming simple robots.
Methods and Means: Interactive Workshops: Engaging hands-on sessions with real-life coding and programming tasks; Group Projects: Collaborative activities where children work together to solve problems and create digital projects; Fun and Educational Games: Interactive games that make learning to code enjoyable and memorable; Expert Guidance: Sessions led by local IT specialists, experienced in non-formal learning methodologies. They promise to provide high-quality instruction and support.
Goals of the Event:
Enhance Digital Skills: Equip children with essential digital skills needed for the future; Boost Confidence: Empower children by giving them the "digital superpower" to create and innovate; Promote Inclusion: Provide free, accessible learning opportunities for children from marginalized families; Encourage Socialization: Help children improve their social skills through collaborative digital projects.
Target Group:
The primary target group will include local and international children aged 8-10 from underserved and underrepresented communities, such as those from marginalized families, with fewer opportunities, or facing socialization challenges.
What Makes Our Event Special:
Inclusive and Free Access: Ensuring that all children, regardless of background, can participate and learn; Fun and Innovative Learning: Using creative, engaging methods to teach coding and digital skills; Collaborative Environment: Encouraging teamwork and social interaction through group projects; High-Quality Curriculum: Partnering with local IT specialists.
