Five days of code is an online event that will support young people to look at how to use code in a practical way to support their communities connect with each other and develop new ways of supporting community like after lockdown due to COVID-19.
Young people will be involved in a five day hackathon where each day we will explore a diffrent code language and develop a prototype service or product that will help members of our community to be creative or learn new skills to address wellbeing and intergeneration issues.
Young people will meet each day via zoom and work in small teams in breakout rooms and create a rapid prototype solution using a scratch one day and python the next etc with some micro controllers and equipment using at our Makerspace for example our laser cutter, 3D printer or CnC milling machine.
Once young people have created a workable solution this will be manufactured or developed online for use within a community setting.
