Computing club for girls

COLERNE C E PRIMARY SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIAT

Description We aim to develop self efficacy of girls so they have a passion for computing and gain self confidence and belief.
We plan to provide onsite weekly 45 minute after school club sessions for 14 weeks solely for girls aged between 7 and 11 focusing on coding and application through microbits.
In addition to focusing on girls, we aim to develop key skills which are particularly significant as our school as is heavily populated by military families. We aim to promote and strengthen team building, communication skills and problem solving which are imperative for our transient population.
We aim to celebrate the girls' achievements in these sessions by culminating in a showcase of work at Christmas where peers, teachers, families and governors will be invited.
This will also be shared in our school newsletters and the village magazine.
