Amazon Future Engineer resources

Amazon Future Engineer is a comprehensive childhood-to-career program aimed at increasing access to computer science education for students from underserved and underrepresented communities. The program provides students with increased access to computer science and career exploration across age groups. Amazon Future Engineer offers a range of free resources on computer science education and career exploration that can be integrated and used in the Meet and Code events or beyond. The following overview shows the availability of the different resources in the different languages. Details of each resource in each language can be found in the Inspiration Library

1. Python learning platform

The Python online learning platforms offer free gamified resources to teach and learn programming. Students can learn the Python fundamentals in different courses and according to different levels. They will not only discover the mysteries of programming but also the pleasure of coding.

Career Tours inspire students to pursue careers of the future by exploring Amazon’s technologies and different professions at Amazon. Career tours are either available as interactive virtual field trips or as short 360 degrees tours.

Fulfilment Centre (FC) Tour

The Kahoot! FC Tour is a virtual field trip through Amazon’s fulfilment centres where students can explore the technology of Amazon's fulfilment centres and discover how computer science, state of the art engineering and people work together. The 45-minute interactive tour explores how robotics, algorithms, machine learning, and more power the fulfilment process at Amazon. During the tour, students travel to different “tour stops” to learn how a fulfilment system works and will also meet the real-life engineers who brought the technology to life.

AWS Data Centre Tour

The Kahoot! AWS Data Centre Tour is a virtual field trip through an Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centre.

During the 45-minute interactive tour, students can explore how the cloud and data centres work. They learn about the components of a computer, get an overview of the cloud, find out how data is transported and how data centres store data securely and sustainably so that no one has to worry about uploading their own data to the cloud. Along the way, students will meet employees who work as data centre operators, solution architects, data centre technology operators and sustainability specialists.

360 degrees tour Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world's most comprehensive and widely deployed cloud offering, with more than 240 fully functional services available in data centres worldwide. 4. Class Chats

Class Chats are virtual career talks. They inspire students and highlight the many different opportunities in the world of tech and other future skills needed in an ever-changing professional landscape. During a Class Chats session, an Amazon employee delivers a virtual career talk and shares his/her personal career stories and insight about working at a large tech company, as well as answers students’ career questions. Exposing students to in-demand careers and diverse career role models can bring them new possibilities, inspiration, and motivation. Class Chats usually take about 45 minutes. Even though Class Chats were originally developed for schools, they can also be used by Meet and Code event organizers and can be integrated into their Meet and Code event.
