Coding 4 Children Part II

Description In the digital age we live in, coding literacy has become essential. It is important for our community to comprehend technology around them. Learning coding equips them with creativity, critical thinking, and confidence.

The goal of this course is to teach our community members who are aged between 8 and 12 the importance of coding in our lives and to help them realize its good potential, now, and in the future. We successfully organised 2 courses of coding for children & youth. Both courses were fully funded by Meet & Code. We would like to continue to offer these courses to our community especially the kids.


The course will examine the following:
• Principles of coding
• Common coding languages.
• Introduction to programming / practice coding with different tools
• Introducing coding concepts using Scratch
• Introducing how software and hardware work together using micro:bit circuit board and C2O2 robot
• Coding simple app using MIT App Inventor environment
• Exercises.
Eligibility:
• Participants must be from a refugee or migrant background and aged between 8 and 12.
• No prior experience with coding is required.
• FREE course.
• Places are limited to 10 participants.
