P5 Coding Workshop

Friends of Cabragh

Description The event will use scratch which allows young people to create digital stories, games and animations. Scratch encourages critical thinking, problem solving, communication and digital literacy.

Methods used:
-demonstration from instructors, step by step examples.
- pair programming
- peer teaching

Goals of event are :
-skill development in basic coding
- problem solving
-confidence building in using coding tools
- improve creativity and innovation
- accessible learning for all
- having fun and engaging in interactive learning

Event is for children in a rural primary school, alot of whom don't have access to IT devices and a group of which come from low income households.
