Virtual Reality Workshop 20024

Scotts Primary School

Description As per last year, we would like to repeat a Virtual Reality experience for different cohorts of pupils. The workshops were well received by pupils in the last academic year and supported pupils understanding of how VR works, as well as enthusing their learning in other curriculum areas.

Our school does not currently have any virtual reality (VR) headsets. Therefore, any funding received will be used to organise for an external educational company (Prime VR) to visit and lead workshop for our pupils. The company will provide all the required headsets and VR content for the workshop.

The workshop will meet the goal of providing an immersive experience for pupils to learn about about history topics and bring ideas to life. In addition, as pupils will also learn about VR in computing later in the year, they will have first-hand experience to draw upon when learning how how WR works.

The workshop will be for 60 Year 3 pupils (7-8 years old) and 60 Year 5 pupils (9-10 years old). Our classes are mixed gender and include pupils from a wide range of backgrounds.

The event will be special for pupils as they will be able to experience technology which we do not have access to. In addition, pupils will be able to see the benefits of VR in learning.
