Participants learn how to program mBot2 robots using a block-based coding language (similar to Scratch) which is accessible and engaging for beginners. The topics include:
Basic coding concepts (loops, conditionals, variables)
Robot assembly and hardware components
Sensor integration
Programming robot movements and actions
Creating interactive projects and solving challenges
2. Which methods and resources are used to convey this content to the participants?
Hands-on Activities: Each session includes practical, hands-on tasks where participants build and program their robots.
Interactive Tutorials: Step-by-step tutorials are provided to guide participants through each project.
Group Projects: Collaborative projects encourage teamwork and peer learning.
Resources: mBlock software, mBot2 robots, instructional handouts, and online resources are utilized to facilitate learning.
Certification Preparation: The curriculum is designed to prepare students for the BCS Level 1 Certification, including practice tests and review sessions.
3. What are the goals of the event?
Educational: To teach students the basics of coding and robotics, providing a strong foundation for further learning in STEM fields.
Engagement: To spark interest in robotics and coding through fun and interactive activities.
Skill Development: To develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
Certification: To help students achieve the BCS Level 1 Robotics certification, adding a valuable credential to their educational portfolio.
Creativity: To encourage creativity and innovation by allowing students to design and execute their own projects.
4. Which target group are you addressing with your event?
The event is targeted at students aged 14-15 ( Year 9)who are interested in technology, coding, and robotics. It caters to beginners with no prior experience in coding or robotics, as well as those who have some basic knowledge.
5. What makes your event special for the target group?
Interactive Learning: The event’s hands-on approach makes learning fun and engaging.
Use of Modern Tools: Utilizing mBlock and mBot2 provides a cutting-edge learning experience with modern educational tools. Certification Opportunity: The integration of the BCS Level 1 Certified Robotics cour
