Microbit Kitronik Code Club

Introduction:
We are thrilled to seek funding for our Microbit Kitronik Code Club, specifically designed for Pupil Premium children in Key Stage 2 (KS2). This initiative aims to provide an engaging and transformative experience that not only aligns with their current curriculum but also empowers them to become coding experts within their whole class.

Project Overview:
The Microbit Kitronik Code Club will offer an exciting learning environment, emphasizing hands-on exploration and creativity. Here are the key components of our project:

1. Microbit Robotics: Our curriculum will focus on Microbit Kitronik robot kits. Students will learn to program these versatile robots, exploring movement, sensors, and interactive features.
2. Peer Mentorship: Pupil Premium children will receive training to become coding experts. They will lead sessions, assist classmates, and share their knowledge, fostering confidence and leadership skills.
3. Project Challenges: Students will tackle real-world challenges using Microbits, such as creating obstacle-avoidance robots, interactive games, and environmental sensors.
4. Summer Term Integration: By the summer term, our trained experts will support their entire class in Microbit programming projects.
Expected Impact:
Through the Microbit Kitronik Code Club, we aim to achieve the following outcomes:

- Passion for Coding: Students will develop a genuine interest in coding and robotics.
- Advanced Concepts: Exploring Microbits will introduce them to advanced computing concepts.
- Career Consideration: We hope to inspire future tech enthusiasts and potential STEM professionals.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Project-based learning will enhance critical thinking and creativity.
- Classroom Confidence: Our experts will lead confidently during class-wide Microbit activities.

Budget:
We are requesting £500 to cover the following expenses:
- Microbit Kitronik robot kits
- Trainer

Conclusion:
The Microbit Kitronik Code Club is more than a club—it's an opportunity for Pupil Premium children to shape their own tech journey. With your support, we can ignite their passion for technology and empower them to excel beyond their current curriculum.
