Description
The aim of the event is to provide and opportunity for participants to participate in a STEM based activity to promote computer science as a creative subject. Students will work in small teams to design, build and program a hovercraft to race around a course. Participants will be given a range of household waste such as cardboard, plastic bags, plastic bottles, food trays. The challenge will be to build a working hovercraft. The students will learn to control motors, and send radio signals and how to connect the motors and servos to the Micro-bits. They will test and refine their designs hopefully to then be able to compete in the race. I will hold 3 different sessions to allow up to 60 students to take part winning teams from each session will get to compete in a final event where all teams will get to watch.
