Enjoy, Create, Solve: Lenovo in Glasgow

Stemette Futures

Description Beneficiaries will create an app or website enabling ethical and sustainable shopping for new and second-hand items. They should seek to incorporate technology to provide consumers with information about each product's carbon footprint, sustainable packaging, ethical sourcing, and recycling programs. Also, they should try to facilitate local swapping and safe resale of goods, empowering consumers to make informed and responsible choices.

The tools being used in this event will be split based on previous exposure to coding. Beginners will be using AppInventor and those with prior experience in coding will be using CodePen. Individuals will also be engaging in icebreakers, listening to keynote speeches and presenting their creations to a panel of judges from Lenovo and to the other attendees.

The goals of the event are to enjoy using the new latest technology that could potentially be otherwise inaccessible, to create new friendships among attendees, to solve problems to win prizes and to inspire young women and non-binary people to participate and become interested in tech.

This event is based physically in Glasgow and is also being hosted virtually for global participants.
