We are excited to apply for a computing grant to launch a weekly Code Club tailored specifically to Pupil Premium children in Key Stage 2 (KS2). This initiative aims to provide an enriching experience that not only supports their current curriculum but also goes beyond, inspiring these students to explore the vast world of computing and consider future studies in this field.
Project Overview:
The KS2 Code Club for Pupil Premium children will offer a dynamic and exploratory environment for students, encouraging them to push the boundaries of their knowledge. Here's a brief overview of the project's key components:
Innovative Curriculum: While we will cover core coding concepts, our curriculum will also include exciting and advanced topics in computing, such as robotics, artificial intelligence, and game development. This approach will ignite curiosity and passion for computing beyond the traditional curriculum.
Mentors as Role Models: Our mentors, who are passionate about computing, will not only guide but also inspire students by sharing their own experiences and projects in the tech industry. This exposure will showcase the endless possibilities in the field of computing.
Project-Based Learning: We will emphasise project-based learning, encouraging students to create their own unique applications, games, and digital projects. This hands-on approach will empower them to apply their knowledge and creativity.
