Stichting Bright Future

Beschrijving Goals: Understanding AI and Its Risks; Practical Protection Strategies; Critical Thinking and Awareness (to be aware of the ethical implications of AI).

Target Group: Children from underserved and underrepresented communities. By involving also parents, we aim to foster a supportive environment where learning continues at home.

Activities will ensure innovation and inclusion by providing accessible and free digital workshops, which aim to boost their awareness of the dangers posed by modern technologies, specifically AI.

One of our key activities involves creating avatars with the kids and their parents. This activity is designed to illustrate the potential dangers of AI manipulation and how to recognize and counteract them.
Activity Details: Avatar Creation and Scenario Simulation; Teaching Methods:
• Interactive Workshops: Sessions will include storytelling, demonstrations, and discussions to make complex AI concepts accessible to children.
• Digital Games and Challenges: These will reinforce learning through play, allowing kids to apply what they’ve learned in a fun environment.
• Q&A Sessions: Kids and parents can ask questions and share their experiences, facilitating a deeper understanding through dialogue.
• Hands-On Projects: Activities like creating avatars and engaging in simulated scenarios will provide practical experience with AI safety measures.

What Makes Our Event Special:
Family Involvement: By involving both kids and their parents, we ensure that the learning experience is extended beyond the event, creating a collaborative environment for digital safety.

Innovative and Fun Learning Methods: Our use of avatars, interactive games, informal learning methodology and hands-on projects ensures that learning about AI safety is engaging and enjoyable.

Practical Focus: We emphasize real-world applications and protective measures, equipping participants with actionable skills they can use immediately.

Registration Information: Free to attend, but with registration in advance. via online Google form. The selection methodology will be “First Applied – First Approved”.

Location:
We are still thinking, but probably it will be Amstelveen Library, which has a separate room, suitable for such activities.

We hope this project will be approved and we will together be able to empower children and their families with the knowledge and skills to navigate the AI-driven world safely.
