Cyber Security & Digital Awareness for Marginalized Groups

Description Aim: We want to implement is to provide the youth space to improve their own digital skills, in order to create space for new generation (local and international young children from underserved and underrepresented communities) with free space to discover the cyber security rules, promoting the awareness about cyber security.

Goals of the Event:
• Improve Digital Skills for safe and responsible online behavior.
• Promote Cyber Security Awareness
• Empower Underserved Communities
• Foster Confidence: Help children feel empowered and confident in their ability to navigate the digital world safely.

What Will Be Taught:
• Cyber Security Fundamentals: Basics of online safety, including identifying phishing scams, creating strong passwords, and understanding data privacy.
• Recognizing Fake Messages: Techniques to identify fraudulent emails, messages, and websites.
Protecting Personal Data: Best practices for securing personal information online, including the use of encryption and two-factor authentication.
• Digital Footprint Awareness: Understanding the long-term impact of digital activities and how to manage one's online presence.

The kids will boost their skills and find out the scam, ensuring digital safety from the young age. They will learn how to recognize fake messages, how to secure/protect yourself/your personal data in digital world, etc. These activities will boost confidence, as the children will feel digital “superpower”, they and their parents will understand that digital activities are very important and skills in cyber security are even more important for their safety nowadays. The children will learn how to spend time digitally with quality impact and results.

What Makes Event Special: Inclusive Approach; Hands-On Learning; Collaborative Environment; Real-World Skills.

Through this project, we aim to motivate other organizations and youth to get involved in similar initiatives, promoting digital knowledge and inclusion. We support the #DigitalSkills4All initiative and strive to empower youth by providing them with valuable digital skills. By collectively working towards #DigitalImpact, we will ensure effective and meaningful outcomes for our target group - the young generation from underserved and underrepresented communities. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to acquire essential computer science skills in today’s digital world.
